Police Department

Lehman Township Police are available to assist you 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. It is important to know when you should call the public police number or 9-1-1!

When you need help or need to report something, consider it an emergency. If you need to report a crime, suspicious vehicles or activity, car crash, an injured person or animal, someone in harm’s way, or something you have witnessed, call 9-1-1. Don’t wait! Give police the opportunity to apprehend the suspect, gather evidence now, and help when time is critical.

9-1-1 is the number to call to reach a police officer. The Luzerne County Emergency Communications Center will dispatch an officer to you. Information that needs to get to police will be delayed if you send an email, message the department through Facebook, or if you call the Police Department office and leave a message as we do not staff a desk officer. In an emergency NEVER use email, Facebook, or leave phone messages. When in doubt about what qualifies as an emergency, please call 9-1-1.

If you are certain that you have a non-emergency and just need non-immediate information, call 570-675-1483. Calling this number will connect you to an answering machine in our office and will be answered when an officer is available. Remember, all emergency calls MUST go through Luzerne County 9-1-1 dispatch.
