Lehman Township was awarded $4,000.00 from the Pennsylvania Environmental Council for their proposed projects on Township property. They are planting Trees for slowing soil erosion and a monarch Butterfly project with Lehman Jackson Elementary students and teachers, thanks to their Principal, Mr. James. Other purchases include but not limited to fencing for a Back Mountain Food Pantry Garden.  On April 22nd the elementary kids will plant the trees as an Earth Day project, but the trees planted will not only be planted for soil erosion.  The Supervisors decided to plant Fruit trees, once the Township trees start to bared fruit the Supervisors will be donating the fruit to the Back Mountain Food pantry to feed their clients.  A great community project which will take place this year, 2014.
